Dante’s Inferno Prawn Tacos with Mango Slaw

Dante’s Inferno prawn tacos filled with mango slaw, avocado and cooling lime yoghurt.

🔥 Dante’s Inferno Prawn Tacos with Mango Slaw

Juicy prawns need only minutes in the pan, making these Dante’s Inferno tacos a fast route to serious flavour. Sweet mango, crunchy cabbage, avocado and lime yoghurt cool the ghost-pepper warmth and keep the finished tacos fresh.

Heat warning: Dante’s Inferno contains ghost pepper. Begin with the stated minimum, avoid touching your eyes and wash your hands and utensils thoroughly after handling.

🧾 Ingredients

  • 300g raw king prawns, peeled
  • 1 tbsp rapeseed oil
  • ⅛–¼ tsp Dante’s Inferno
  • 1 tsp runny honey
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 150g red cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1 ripe mango, diced
  • 1 small avocado, diced
  • 100g Greek yoghurt
  • 8 small soft tortillas
  • Fresh coriander, to serve

Instructions

  1. Mix the cabbage, mango and half the lime juice. Season lightly and set aside.
  2. Stir the yoghurt with a teaspoon of lime juice and a pinch of salt.
  3. Pat the prawns dry. Toss with the oil, honey and ⅛ teaspoon Dante’s Inferno.
  4. Heat a frying pan until hot and cook the prawns for 2–3 minutes, turning, until pink and just cooked.
  5. Taste one prawn before deciding whether to add a tiny extra pinch of Inferno.
  6. Warm the tortillas and fill with mango slaw, avocado, prawns, lime yoghurt and coriander.

🍽️ Serving Suggestions

Put the components on the table and let everyone build their own tacos. Extra lime and yoghurt are more useful here than extra chilli.

💛 Why This Recipe Works

Mango and honey echo the prawns’ natural sweetness, while cabbage and lime cut through the glaze. Starting with ⅛ teaspoon respects the smaller quantity of food.

🧂 Try It With

Build extra flavour with Chilli Salt and Cracked Black Pepper. Add them for aroma and depth rather than using more Inferno simply for heat.
