Dante’s Inferno Hot Honey Chicken Wings
🔥 Dante’s Inferno Hot Honey Chicken Wings
Sticky, smoky and properly fiery, these chicken wings balance the ghost-pepper heat of Dante’s Inferno with honey, lime and a cool yoghurt dip. They are made for people who genuinely enjoy chilli—but the heat remains adjustable.
Heat warning: Dante’s Inferno contains ghost pepper. Begin with the stated minimum, avoid touching your eyes and wash your hands and utensils thoroughly after handling.
🧾 Ingredients
- 1kg chicken wings
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp fine sea salt
- ¼ tsp Dante’s Inferno, plus more only after tasting
- 2 tbsp runny honey
- 1 tbsp tomato purée
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 150g Greek yoghurt
- Finely grated zest and juice of ½ lime
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 200°C fan / 220°C conventional. Pat the wings thoroughly dry.
- Toss the wings with baking powder, salt and ¼ teaspoon Dante’s Inferno. Arrange on a rack over a lined tray.
- Roast for 40–45 minutes, turning once, until crisp, golden and cooked through.
- Warm the honey, tomato purée, soy sauce and lime juice in a small pan for 2 minutes.
- Taste the glaze carefully. Add only a tiny extra pinch of Inferno if you want more heat.
- Toss the cooked wings through the glaze. Mix the yoghurt with the lime zest and juice and serve alongside.

🍽️ Serving Suggestions
Pile onto a sharing platter with celery, cucumber and plenty of lime yoghurt. Keep extra Inferno at the table for committed heat-seekers rather than increasing the whole batch.
💛 Why This Recipe Works
Baking powder dries the skin for crispness, while honey rounds off the chilli without hiding it. The cool, acidic yoghurt gives every mouthful balance.
🧂 Try It With
Build extra flavour with Garlic Granules and Smoked Paprika. Add them for aroma and depth rather than using more Inferno simply for heat.
