Dante’s Inferno Firecracker Noodles

Dante’s Inferno firecracker noodles with crispy tofu, pak choi, peppers and spring onions.

🔥 Dante’s Inferno Firecracker Noodles

These glossy firecracker noodles put Dante’s Inferno exactly where it belongs: in a bold, quick sauce surrounded by crisp vegetables and golden tofu. The recipe is plant-based, ready in 25 minutes and easy to adjust without losing flavour.

Heat warning: Dante’s Inferno contains ghost pepper. Begin with the stated minimum, avoid touching your eyes and wash your hands and utensils thoroughly after handling.

🧾 Ingredients

  • 300g firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • 2 tbsp rapeseed oil
  • 250g medium egg-free noodles
  • 1 red pepper, sliced
  • 2 pak choi, quartered
  • 3 spring onions, sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • ⅛–¼ tsp Dante’s Inferno
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Sesame seeds, to serve

Instructions

  1. Toss the tofu with cornflour. Heat half the oil in a wok and fry until crisp and golden, then set aside.
  2. Cook the noodles according to the packet instructions and drain.
  3. Mix the soy sauce, maple syrup, vinegar, sesame oil and ⅛ teaspoon Dante’s Inferno.
  4. Add the remaining oil to the wok and stir-fry the pepper and pak choi for 3–4 minutes.
  5. Return the tofu, add the noodles and pour in the sauce. Toss over high heat for 1–2 minutes.
  6. Taste carefully before adding any extra Inferno. Finish with spring onions and sesame seeds.

🍽️ Serving Suggestions

Serve immediately with cucumber ribbons or steamed edamame. Keep lime wedges nearby for freshness and relief from the heat.

💛 Why This Recipe Works

Cornflour gives the tofu crisp edges that hold the sauce. Maple syrup and rice vinegar create a sweet-sharp base, so the Inferno adds heat without being the only flavour.

🧂 Try It With

Build extra flavour with Garlic Granules and Cracked Black Pepper. Add them for aroma and depth rather than using more Inferno simply for heat.
