Braai Lamb Chops with Mint Yoghurt
Braai Lamb Chops with Mint Yoghurt are quick to prepare and full of smoky, fiery flavour. The cooling yoghurt sauce makes them equally good for a relaxed barbecue or a speedy griddle-pan dinner. The flavour comes from our Braai South African Hot Spice.
🧾 Ingredients
- 8 lamb loin chops
- 2 tbsp Braai South African Hot Spice
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lemon, zest and juice
- 200g Greek-style yoghurt
- Small handful mint, finely chopped
- ½ cucumber, grated and squeezed dry
- 1 small garlic clove, crushed
- Sea salt, to taste
👩🍳 Instructions
- Rub the lamb chops with the Braai spice, olive oil, lemon zest and half the lemon juice.
- Mix the yoghurt, mint, cucumber, garlic and remaining lemon juice. Season lightly and chill until needed.
- Cook the chops over a hot barbecue or in a griddle pan for 3–5 minutes per side, depending on thickness.
- Transfer to a warm plate and rest for 5 minutes.
- Serve the lamb with the mint yoghurt spooned alongside.
