Braai Chicken & Apricot Sosaties
These Braai Chicken & Apricot Sosaties combine juicy chicken, sweet dried apricots and colourful peppers on easy barbecue skewers. The fruity, tangy marinade balances the fiery seasoning beautifully. The flavour comes from our Braai South African Hot Spice.
🧾 Ingredients
- 700g skinless chicken thighs, cut into chunks
- 2 tbsp Braai South African Hot Spice
- 150g natural yoghurt
- 2 tbsp apricot jam
- 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 1 red pepper, cut into chunks
- 1 yellow pepper, cut into chunks
- 1 red onion, cut into chunks
- 100g soft dried apricots
- Vegetable oil, for brushing
👩🍳 Instructions
- Mix the Braai spice, yoghurt, apricot jam and vinegar in a bowl.
- Add the chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes, or cover and chill for up to 8 hours.
- Thread the chicken, peppers, onion and apricots alternately onto skewers.
- Brush lightly with oil and cook over a medium-hot barbecue or under the grill for 15–18 minutes, turning regularly.
- Check the chicken is cooked through before serving.
