🍔 Taco-Spiced Turkey Burgers with Lime Slaw
These Taco-Spiced Turkey Burgers are juicy, smoky and topped with a crisp lime slaw. Our Mexican Taco Spice brings lean turkey mince to life, creating a lighter burger that still feels generous and satisfying.
They are equally good cooked in a frying pan, beneath the grill or on the barbecue.
🥣 Ingredients
- 500g turkey thigh mince
- 2 tbsp Mexican Taco Spice
- 1 small onion, finely grated
- 1 tbsp vegetable or rapeseed oil
- 4 brioche or seeded burger buns
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 200g finely shredded white cabbage
- 1 carrot, grated
- 3 tbsp plain yoghurt or mayonnaise
- Juice of ½ lime
- Salt, to taste
⏱ Timings
- Preparation: 20 minutes
- Cooking: 12–15 minutes
- Makes: 4 burgers
🍳 How to Make Taco-Spiced Turkey Burgers
- Mix the turkey mince, Mexican Taco Spice and grated onion gently. Shape into four even patties and chill for 15 minutes.
- Mix the cabbage and carrot with the yoghurt, lime juice and a little salt.
- Heat the oil in a large frying pan over a medium heat. Cook the burgers for 6–7 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
- Check the centre reaches 75°C, then rest for 3 minutes.
- Lightly toast the buns. Add lettuce, tomato, a turkey burger and a spoonful of lime slaw.
🍟 Serving Suggestions
Serve with potato wedges, sweetcorn or a crisp salad. Extra slaw can be served alongside rather than overloading the burger.
