- 500g beef mince
- 2 tbsp Jammin Jamaican Seasoning
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- ½ red pepper, finely diced
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 tbsp tomato purée
- 100ml beef stock
- 500g ready-made shortcrust pastry
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 egg, beaten
- Mango slaw, to serve
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a frying pan. Soften the onion and pepper for 5 minutes, then add the garlic and seasoning.
- Add the beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Stir in the tomato purée and stock, then simmer until the mixture is moist but not wet. Cool completely.
- Knead the turmeric gently into the pastry until evenly golden. Roll out and cut six circles about 18cm across.
- Divide the filling between the pastry circles. Fold into half-moons, press out the air and crimp the edges with a fork.
