Sizzling Chicken Fajitas

Sizzling chicken fajitas with golden seasoned chicken, red and yellow peppers and onions served in a cast-iron skillet with warm tortillas.

🔥 Sizzling Chicken Fajitas

These Sizzling Chicken Fajitas are colourful, smoky and made for sharing. Strips of juicy chicken, sweet peppers and red onion are cooked quickly with our Fajita Seasoning, giving you bold Tex-Mex flavour without measuring a cupboard full of separate spices.

Bring the hot pan straight to the table with warm tortillas and your favourite toppings, then let everyone build their own.

🥣 Ingredients

  • 600g boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into strips
  • 2 tbsp Fajita Seasoning
  • 2 tbsp vegetable or rapeseed oil
  • 1 red pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow pepper, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, sliced
  • 2 red onions, sliced into wedges
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • Salt, to taste

⏱ Timings

  • Preparation: 15 minutes
  • Cooking: 15 minutes
  • Serves: 4

🍳 How to Make Sizzling Chicken Fajitas

  1. Put the chicken in a bowl with 1 tablespoon of oil, the Fajita Seasoning and half the lime juice. Toss well and leave for 15 minutes if time allows.
  2. Heat a large cast-iron skillet or heavy frying pan over a high heat. Cook the chicken in two batches for 4–5 minutes, turning until browned and cooked through. Transfer to a warm plate.
  3. Add the remaining oil, peppers and onions to the hot pan. Cook for 5–6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened but still colourful with lightly charred edges.
  4. Return the chicken and its resting juices to the pan. Toss for 1–2 minutes until piping hot, then finish with the remaining lime juice.
  5. Warm the tortillas according to the packet instructions and serve immediately.

🌮 Serving Suggestions

Serve with shredded lettuce, tomato salsa, soured cream, grated cheese, avocado and extra lime wedges. Put everything on the table and let everyone choose their own fillings.

✨ Why This Recipe Works

Cooking the chicken in batches prevents the pan from cooling, so the meat browns rather than steams. The peppers and onions go in afterwards, collecting all the savoury flavour from the pan while keeping their colour and texture.
