Paneer Chaat Flatbreads

Warm flatbreads loaded with Chaat Masala paneer, roasted peppers, pickled onion, mint yoghurt and tamarind chutney.

These loaded flatbreads bring together golden paneer, sweet peppers, sharp pickled onion and two contrasting sauces. Chaat Masala turns the simple paneer filling into something bright, savoury and properly moreish.

Set everything on the table and let everyone assemble their own—ideal for relaxed family dinners or informal entertaining.

🧾 Ingredients

  • 450g paneer, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1 red pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow pepper, sliced
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp Chaat Masala
  • 4 large flatbreads
  • 150g thick natural yoghurt
  • 2 tbsp mint chutney
  • 3 tbsp tamarind chutney
  • Pickled red onions and fresh coriander, to finish

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 220°C, 200°C fan or Gas 7. Toss the peppers and onion with 1 tablespoon of oil and roast for 18–20 minutes.
  2. Pat the paneer dry. Toss it with the remaining oil and Chaat Masala.
  3. Heat a large non-stick frying pan over a medium-high heat. Fry the paneer for 6–8 minutes, turning until golden on several sides.
  4. Mix the yoghurt with the mint chutney. Warm the flatbreads according to the packet instructions.
  5. Top each flatbread with roasted vegetables and paneer. Drizzle with mint yoghurt and tamarind chutney, then finish with pickled onions, coriander and an extra pinch of Chaat Masala.

🍽️ Serving Suggestions

Serve with a crunchy cucumber salad or masala corn. Fold the flatbreads loosely and eat while the paneer is still hot.

💛 Why This Recipe Works

Paneer browns without melting, giving the soft flatbread plenty of texture. Sweet roasted vegetables and yoghurt mellow the chilli, while tamarind reinforces the blend’s characteristic sweet-sour edge.

🌿 Try It With

Add a dusting of Amchoor Mango Powder for more tang, or mix Dried Mint into plain yoghurt.
